About Sam Smith Tickets 2026

Sam Smith was born in London in May 1992 and studied singing and songwriting under Joanna Eden, a jazz pianist, and sang in a youth choir as a youngster.

Smith released singles in 2008 and 2009, but it wasn't until 2013, when they released Lay Me Down, that they started to make an impact, with the song reaching number 46 in the UK singles charts.

La La La

In 2013 Sam Smith was featured on La La La from Naughty Boy, which went to number one in the UK.

Their first studio album, In the Lonely Hour, was released to a fanfare and was a massive success around the world. It reached number one in the UK and number two on the US Billboard charts, selling almost three million copies in the United Kingdom and more than five million copies in the United States.

Stay With Me

Singles Money on My Mind and Stay With Me went to number one in the UK, and the latter was number two in the US, helping them to break the United States mainstream market, something that is notoriously difficult to do, especially so soon after becoming an established act.

Stay With Me went on to go Diamond in the US, selling ten million copies. The song earned Sam Smith a Grammy Award for Song of the Year, and they have gone on to win five Grammy Awards in total thus far.

Writing's On the Wall

In 2015 they worked on the James Bond theme song for Spectre, and Writing's On the Wall went to number one and earned Sam Smith an Oscar for Best Original Song. Sam Smith released The Thrill of It All in November 2017, and the album was number one in 11 countries and has sold 12 million copies.

Too Good at Goodbyes

Too Good at Goodbyes was the big selling single from that album, and Loves Goes, Sam Smith's third studio album, was released in 2020.

Promises, with Calvin Harris, topped the UK official charts, while Dancing With a Stranger and How Do You Sleep were also well received commercially.

Unholy

In 2022 their megahit featuring Kim Petras earned Sam Smith a second-ever US number-one single with Unholy. In January 2023, Sam Smith released their fourth studio album, Gloria, and unsurprisingly it proved very popular with critics and fans alike. The success meant that they were one of only three artists to debut at #1 on the UK charts.

The release of the album is one that Sam Smith will be looking to partner with an exciting live plot, a tour that is sure to prove hugely successful.

Massive Success

Since breaking into the music scene, Sam Smith has been a constant presence on the world Apple Music global charts and on both the official UK charts and the US Billboard.

Sam Smith has sold more than 40 million albums and over 250 million singles in less than a decade in the music industry and is already one of the biggest-selling British artists of all time, and they still have so far to go.
