France Rugby Six Nations 2026 Tickets

As with the popularity of the World Cup, getting tickets for Rugby's greatest championship is not easy, and the popularity of the event is continuously improving.

The Guinness Six Nations has an iconic history and has gone from strength to strength and there's nothing quite like experiencing the atmosphere at a game first hand, be that watching France at the Stade de France, Ireland do battle at the Aviva Stadium or cheering on England at Twickenham Stadium.

This annual spectacle plays out to full stadiums across Europe and is as competitive as ever, and that's reflected in the level of interest in the event.

France Six Nations Rugby History

When the Home Nations Championship was extended to become the Five Nations, France joined to become the fifth rugby union side to take part, the first Championship taking place in 1947.

France won for the first time in 1954, albeit they shared the crown with England and Wales.

The first time France won outright was in 1959, and they have regularly challenged for top honours ever since.

France's Six Nations Glory Days

The French national team was particularly successful in the late 1980s and 1990s with stars like fullback Serge Blanco and centre Philippe Sella proving hugely influential.

During the Five Nations era, France won 12 outright titles and shared another eight, making them among the most successful in this period of the Championship's history.

In 2000 when Italy joined in the fun to make the tournament a Six Nations Championship, France continued to be regular winners.

Between 2002 and 2007, they won four out of six Championships under head coach Bernard Laporte.

Grand Slam

Between 2010 and 2022, France went into something of a slump, failing to win a Championship, but that worrying run was brought to an end when they completed the Grand Slam under Fabien Galthie.

France played their three home matches at the 2024 Six Nations at three venues across the country; because the Stade de France was not available for use as it was being prepared for the Summer Olympics in Paris.

The French were left to rue an opening day defeat to eventual winners Ireland and a 13-13 draw with Italy, in 2024. They did though win the other three matches in style.

They made up for their 2024 failure by romping to the Six Nations Championship in 2025, with Fabien Galthie's side edging England to collect their seventh title of the Six Nations era.

2026 France Guinness Six Nations Fixtures

After a poor World Cup and consecutive seasons of watching Ireland win the Six Nations, France won the Six Nations in the 2025 edition, making them the team to beat for the 2026 campaign.
