Hearts FC History & Info

The club was founded back in 1874, originally called Heart of Midlothian Quadrille Assembly Club, before it was renamed Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

Based in the capital Edinburgh, Hearts FC were one of the founding members of the Scottish Football League in 1890. The team became champions of Scotland for the first time in the 1894/95 season and also clinched the Scottish Cup the following year.

Hearts had to wait more than 60 years to be crowned winners of the Scottish Premiership again, finally doing so in 1957/58. Since 1960, however, HMFC have failed to reclaim the league title, though they have lifted the Scottish Cup no fewer than three times, and eight overall.
