About Oklahoma City Thunder Tickets 2023/24

The Oklahoma City Thunder first made their NBA bow in 1967-68, when they were the Seattle SuperSonics, which they remained all the way up to their move to Oklahoma City in 2008.

In 1977-78 the SuperSonics battled their way to the NBA Championship Finals, having finished first in the Western Conference and then went on to beat the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals.

Beat the Bullets

They eventually edged out the Washington Bullets in five games, having lost to the same team the year previous, and it wasn't until 1995-96 that they got to experience another shot at the NBA Finals.

Battered by the Bulls

This time, under long-term head coach George Karl, they went six games with the Bulls before losing to a Chicago side led by the mercurial Michael Jordan, despite the best efforts of Defensive Player of the Year award winner Gary Payton.

In 2011-12 they got to the NBA Finals for a fourth time, helped by the efforts of James Harden and Kevin Durant. They were, however, unable to get past a Miami Heat side that triumphed 4-1.

Big Names

For a team that has won just one NBA Championship, the Oklahoma City Thunder have seen a lot of talented individuals wear their jerseys, from the likes of Fred Brown and Shawn Kemp to Ray Allen and Russell Westbrook.

Pacific Division Rivals

The Oklahoma City Thunder play in the Pacific Division, where they battle the likes of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Utah Jazz, the Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves for divisional superiority.

Paycom Center Guide

The venue was previously known as the Chesapeake Energy Arena until July 2021.

It has served as the home court for Thunder games since 2008 and has a capacity of 18,203.
