BTS were formed in 2010 and their name means, in Korean, Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts and are the brainchild of Big Hit Entertainment.
The band was put together by Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si-hyuk and was originally supposed to see a band build around RM (Kim Namjoon) but opted instead to use the cumulative talents of seven individuals to give the band more scope and more of a range, providing a more dynamic act and that decision certainly paid off in a big way!
Their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, came out in 2013 but proved unsuccessful, as did single No More Dream.
Their first concert tour followed in 2014 and proved a moderate success and saw them move beyond South Korea and played to audiences in Malaysia, Australia and the United States.
In 2015 the band changed their style a tad and their album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1, showcased a band that was very much on the rise. Their mainstream success grew and as a live act they started to prove very popular indeed.

BTS have been nominated for five Grammy Awards and the band cites the likes of Kanye West, Eminem, Post Malone and Drake as major influences on their epic careers.
Further evidence of their size and following can be illustrated by the fact that BTS member Jungkook has three of the most liked tweets of all time and the band are the most retweeted artist around.
The release of every new song sees BTS grow ever larger and the sky is very much the limit.
Big Hit Entertainment clearly see the longevity of the band and have secured BTS to a long running contract until 2026.
The cultural impact that BTS have made is similarly astounding and in 2019 the band was named in Time's 100 most influential people of the year awards and they were even invited to address the United Nations General Assembly.
BTS are one of the biggest acts in music today and getting tickets for their world tour is quite a challenge.
Over the course of a decade the much loved music group has steadily grown in stature and now play to sell out stadiums around the world.
