About FC Augsburg Tickets 2026/27

FC Augsburg tickets put fans inside one of the Bundesliga's more tightly-knit matchday atmospheres, staged at the WWK Arena on the southern edge of the Bavarian city of Augsburg. Since arriving in the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011, the Fuggerstädter have built a reputation as durable, well-organised top-flight regulars rather than a club chasing quick success. Newcomers to German football can buy FC Augsburg tickets confident they're getting one of the more cost-effective routes into Bundesliga action, without giving up on genuine European pedigree.

FC Augsburg fans take pride in a stadium known for its climate-neutral design and steep, compact stands, and FC Augsburg events at the WWK Arena regularly draw crowds close to full capacity even against modest opposition. The club's identity has always leaned on consistency over spectacle, and that steady, unglamorous competence is exactly what keeps the ground full.

FC Augsburg History

FC Augsburg were founded in 1907 and spent most of the twentieth century shuttling between amateur and regional football in Bavaria, never once reaching the top flight during that stretch. Promotion to the Bundesliga finally arrived in 2011, turning a club previously known mainly for lower-league consistency into a fixture of German football's top division.

The high point came in the 2014/15 season, when a fifth-place finish secured qualification for the UEFA Europa League and the club's first taste of continental competition, including a Round of 32 tie eventually settled by Liverpool. Augsburg have avoided relegation in every campaign since promotion, one of the more remarkable top-flight survival records in the division, and the 2025/26 season added to that story with a ninth-place finish under head coach Manuel Baum — the third-best result in the club's history.

FC Augsburg Rivalries

Augsburg's most fiercely contested local rivalries are with FC Ingolstadt 04 and TSV 1860 Munich, though both currently sit in Germany's third tier, limiting how often those derbies are renewed at senior level. The closest thing to a regular rivalry fixture in the Bundesliga itself is the Bavarian derby against Bayern Munich, a lopsided but reliably sold-out occasion that Augsburg have occasionally punctured with famous upset results since 2018; FC Augsburg vs Bayern Munich tickets are consistently among the hardest on the fixture list to find.

Visits from Borussia Dortmund carry similar weight, given the size of the travelling support the Ruhr club brings to Bavaria, and FC Augsburg vs Borussia Dortmund tickets rank among the season's most in-demand match tickets.

WWK Arena Stadium Guide

The WWK Arena sits on the southern edge of Augsburg and holds the distinction of being the world's first climate-neutral football stadium, heated and cooled by a network of deep geothermal wells rather than conventional systems. Its compact, steep single-tier design keeps fans close to the pitch and helps generate one of the louder atmospheres in the division relative to the club's modest scale.

  • Ulrich-Biesinger-Tribüne (North) — standing terrace and home to Augsburg's most vocal supporters, named after a club alumnus and 1954 World Cup winner
  • Haupttribüne (West) — the seated main stand, housing VIP boxes and the best overall sightlines across the pitch
  • Gegengerade (East) — a further seating stand running the length of the pitch opposite the main stand
  • Southwest corner — shared home to both the family zone and the visiting supporters' section

FC Augsburg stadium tickets across these blocks can be checked against the WWK Arena seating plan before deciding where to sit.

FC Augsburg Away Tickets

Visiting fans arriving at the WWK Arena are directed to the southwest corner, a standing-and-seated block that shares space with Augsburg's own family sections on quieter matchdays. Because Augsburg's own away allocation elsewhere in the Bundesliga is set by league-wide standards rather than club-specific demand, FC Augsburg away tickets for daunting trips to Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund are best secured early, given how quickly those blocks sell out regardless of Augsburg's comparatively modest travelling numbers.

FC Augsburg Cup Tickets

Whether it's a league fixture or a cup night, FC Augsburg game tickets open the door to one of the Bundesliga's more atmospheric grounds. Augsburg's best recent DFB-Pokal run came in 2024/25, when the club reached the quarter-finals before exiting the competition — the furthest the Fuggerstädter have progressed in the modern era. FC Augsburg DFB-Pokal tickets cover every stage of the club's campaign, from the opening rounds against lower-tier opposition through to any repeat push toward the competition's closing stages.

FC Augsburg Ticket Prices

FC Augsburg tickets sit toward the more affordable end of the Bundesliga's pricing spectrum, reflecting the club's smaller-scale operation compared to Germany's traditional giants. The steepest prices of the season arrive with visits from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, when demand regularly pushes costs well above a typical midweek fixture against a fellow mid-table side. Comparing Augsburg's rates against the wider Bundesliga tickets market, alongside other league tickets, is a useful way to spot value before a fixture sells out.
