The Canadian Soccer Association was established in 1912 and it first gained affiliation with FIFA that same year.
The first match (officially) involving the Canada national soccer team came in 1924. It was against Australia, in Brisbane, and the home team claimed a 3-2 win. Canada would also regularly contest friendlies against neighbours United States.
