Gracie Abrams Biography

Gracie Madigan Abrams was born in September 1999 in Los Angeles, California, to film director J.J. Abrams and film and TV producer Katie McGrath.

She started writing songs at the tender age of eight and enrolled at The Archer School of Girls in Los Angeles before studying international relations at Barnard College in New York. She then chose to focus her interest on music.

In 2019, she released her debut single, Mean It, through Interscope Records and her debut EP, Minor, followed in 2020, which included her first hit single, I Miss You, I'm Sorry.

That extended play also included the fan favourite tracks Long Sleeves, Friend and 21.

Her debut studio album, Good Riddance, charted well in the US and across Europe and reached number three on the UK Albums chart. That album spawned a number of singles, with Block Me Out, Difficult, Where Do We Go Now, Armelie, and I Know It Won't Work being notable releases.

She then teamed up with Noah Kahan on the track Everywhere, Everything, with featured on his hit album Stick Season.

Gracie Abrams released her track 405, featuring Tiny Habits, in 2024, and her second studio album, The Secret of Us, also came out the same year. The lead single from the album, Risk performed well in the US and the UK and charted in Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand.
