Selena Marie Gomez was born in 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas and began her acting career in 2002 on the famous children's TV show Barney & Friends. She then scored a recurring role on Hannah Montana and started to appear in feature films alongside Hollywood stars such as Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell.
In 2009 she turned to music and released her debut album as part of Selena Gomez and the Scene, Kiss & Tell, proving a hit. The follow-up albums as part of the group included A Year Without Rain and When the Sun Goes Down, both of which were successes.
Selena Gomez released her debut solo album in 2013, and Stars Dance was a huge hit, reaching the top of the US Billboard Albums chart and spawning Come & Get It, a top ten single in the US and the UK. In 2015, she released Revival, which once again hit the top of the US charts.
Now a pop superstar, Selena Gomez saw Revival score a number of hit single releases, including Good for You (featuring ASAP Rocky), Same Old Love, Hands to Myself and Kill Em With Kindness. 2019 saw Selena Gomez secure her first ever US number-one single as a solo artist, with Lose You to Love Me topping the charts in many countries around the world.
