The first Formula One race in Mexico City took place at the Magdalena Mixhuca track, which was the original name for the current circuit, in 1963 with British driver Jim Clark emerging victorious in his Lotus-Climax.
The two-time world champion won again in 1967 and sadly the event was moved from the F1 calendar between 1971 and 1985.
It returned between 1986 and 1992 and giants of Formula 1 like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Nigel Mansell all secured famous wins at the now renamed Hermanos Rodriguez circuit but once again events in Mexico were shelved, this time between 1993 and 2014.
Once again Formula One racing returned to Mexico in 2015 and remains a fixture on the schedule for the foreseeable future, with a deal in place to keep it as part of the calendar until at least 2025.
