Eilleen Regina Edwards was born in Windsor, Ontario, in 1965 and developed an interest in music at a very early age. At the age of 13, she performed on the Tommy Hunter show and was part of a band named Longshot.

In 1987, her mother and stepfather were killed in a car crash, which led to her returning home to look after her younger siblings. She never gave up on her musical dreams and fought to become one of the most popular artists of all time.

After opting to go solo, she attracted the attention of labels and was signed by Mercury Nashville Records ahead of the release of her self-titled debut album in 1993. Shania Twain's first record was a moderate success, but a stellar career was just around the corner.

In 1995, her second studio album was released, and The Woman In Me became an international best-seller. The record topped the US Country music charts and sold over 12 million copies in the United States alone and saw Shania Twain perform the perfect country pop crossover. The album won Shania Twain the first of her five Grammy Awards.

The album included the hit singles Any Man of Mine, You Win My Love, and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under. If that album was considered a storming success, what followed was an even bigger triumph.

In 1997 her third studio album, Come On Over, was released, and it has gone on to become the best-selling country album of all time and has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, going to the top of the charts in the UK, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, the Netherland, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand and Norway.

The album contained perhaps her most famous song, "You're Still The One," as well as "That Don't Impress Me Much," "Man, I Feel Like a Woman," and "You've Got a Way." Five years later, she released her next album, "Up!"

It would take another 15 years before Shania Twain released her next album as she took a break from music to raise her family. Now was a number-one hit in 2017, and six years later, she released her sixth studio album, Queen of Me, which was backed by her Queen of Me Tour, which has proven a huge success.

This came after the release of her Not Just a Girl compilation album in 2022, which helped to get exposure back to the queen of country pop. Shania Twain has already achieved so much over the course of her career and don't bet against more success coming her way in the years to come.
