Twenty One Pilots History

Twenty One Pilots were formed in 2009 and the band played as a three-piece band with the initial members being Joseph along with Nick Thomas and Chris Salih, with their current line-up forming in 2011.

Their self-released, self-titled debut album secured a moderate reception, and they built from there. In 2012 their third studio album, Vessel, broke into the charts across the world and included singles Holding on to You, House of Gold and Car Radio.

It was the band's fourth studio album, Blurryface, which truly put Twenty One Pilots on the map. It topped the US Billboard Album Charts and also reached the top five in the UK. It sold over five million copies in the United States alone and was backed by hit singles Stressed Out, Ride, Lane Boy, Fairly Local, and Tear in My Heart.

The impact and success of that album is the kind of catalyst that most bands and artists spent their entire life hoping to achieve, and Twenty-One Pilots have gone on to build from that success to become a real force in the music industry.

The album won a host of awards and prestigious nominations. At the Billboard Music Awards, they were nominated for Best Rock Album and won Best Rock Song for Heathens in 2017.
