Gwen Stefani Biography

Gwen Stefani was born in Fullerton, California, in October 1969, and as a teenager, she developed a love for ska music. In 1986, she joined the band No Doubt, which became one of the biggest rock bands in the world in the 1990s.

The release of the band's third studio album, Tragic Kingdom, saw No Doubt break into the mainstream in a big way. The album went on to sell over 16 million copies and included the band's breakout single Don't Speak.

In 2004 Gwen Stefani released her debut solo album and Love. Angel. Music. Baby was a huge worldwide success. The album sold four million copies in the United States alone. That record included her first US number-one single, Hollaback Girl and other hits, including What You Waiting For and Rich Girl.

Two years later, she released her second solo album, and the Sweet Escape earned glowing reviews and once again sold well. The album's title song was a big hit single, with Akon featuring on the release, which went to the top ten across North America and Europe.

In 2006 Gwen Stefani became a mom for the first time and now has three children.
