Rockets Playoffs Tickets

The Rockets first joined the NBA in 1967, at which stage they were based in San Diego, and for their four seasons as the San Diego Rockets, the team failed to produce all that much, albeit they did make it to the NBA playoffs in their second season, but that was after a losing record campaign.

Move to Houston

The team moved to Houston in 1971, and by 1976-77, they picked up their first Central Division title and made a postseason run to the Conference Finals, where they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in six games.

First NBA Finals

Under Del Harris, the Houston Rockets fought to the NBA Finals for the first time when they saw off the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Kansas City Kings before losing to the Boston Celtics.

In 1985-86 they once again took on the Celtics in the NBA Finals, losing again to Larry Bird and co in six games.

Hakeem Takes Houston to New Heights

Hakeem Olajuwon was the catalyst for the team's first NBA Championship successes, with the Rockets winning back-to-back titles in 1994 and 1995.

The heights reached during Rudy Tomjanovich's time as head coach has not been bettered, with the coach leading the team to two NBA titles and seven playoff berths over the course of his 11 full seasons in charge.

Houston, We Have a Problem

The team has slumped of late. In 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23, they never racked up more than 22 regular season wins, and a lot needs to be improved if the Toyota Center is going to host playoff action any time soon.

Their record of late is akin to the likes of the Charlotte Hornets and is not the kind of record a team of their magnitude should be suffering.
