About Nuggets Playoffs Tickets 2025/26

The Denver Nuggets were long considered something of a nearly man in terms of their NBA history. The team has made it to the playoffs on many occasions and had ten division titles to its name.

As the Nuggets showed big leaps in the right direction, in 2023, lead by Nikola Jokic, they finally won the title, beating Miami Heat 4-1 in the final.

NBA Expansion

The Denver Nuggets joined the NBA as one of four expansion sides in 1976, along with the Indiana Pacers, the New York Nets, and the San Antonio Spurs.

Under coach Larry Brown the team competed incredibly well in their debut season, winning the Midwest Division and qualifying for their first playoff games, where they lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in six games.

The following season they went one better and beat the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round before losing to the Seattle SuperSonics in the Conference Finals.

Nine Successive Playoff Finishes

The 1980s were relatively successful for the Nuggets, and coach Doug Moe took the team to nine successive playoffs; but they never made it past the Conference SemiFinals in this spell.

A similar level of consistency was secured between 2003 and 2013, with ten successive postseason finishes being achieved. Of those ten seasons, the team was eliminated in the first round on nine occasions.

In 2008-09 the Nuggets got to the Conference Finals, with Carmelo Anthony impressing, where they lost to the Lakers in six games.

The current team, under the guidance of Michael Malone the team, has won the Northwest Division in three out of five seasons between 2018-19 and 2022-23.

The Joker

Serbian star Nikola Jokic is very much the key performer, and there was a sense that the Nuggets were building up to their NBA title victory.

In 2023, the Denver Nuggets beat Minnesota Timberwolves, the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers and finally the Miami Heat in what turned out to be a procession to the pinnacle of the NBA.

This was after they team secured their fifth successive playoff berth and topped the Western Conference for the first time ever.
