Founded in 1968, the Milwaukee Bucks have had strong spells that saw them regularly feature in the NBA playoffs but usually having also suffered long periods without making it to the postseason action.

Immediate Impact

The Bucks made an immediate impact in the NBA, making it to the playoffs in their second season in the league, and in their third campaign, they fought their way all the way to the NBA Finals, where they beat the Baltimore Bullets in four games.

Three years later, they lost their first-ever NBA Championship, losing out to the Boston Celtics in an exciting seven-game clash in 1974.

Consistency Under Nelson

Under Don Nelson, the Bucks made it to the playoffs for eight successive seasons, and that feat was continued by his replacement Del Harris, who did so for four straight years.

The 1990s were largely poor, and the success only returned to Milwaukee once Mike Budenholzer showed up.

Giannis Leads the Way

The head coach, with the help of Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo, lead the team to two successive playoff finishes before earning the team their second-ever NBA title in 2020-21 when they beat the Phoenix Suns in six games.

The Bucks continue to be a force within the Central Division and finished top of the Eastern Conference in three of the last five seasons, a helpful way to make sure of guaranteed home-court advantage.
