About Indiana Pacers Tickets 2025/26

Prior to their move to the NBA, the Indiana Pacers were a team that had dominated the ABA (American Basketball Association), winning three titles between 1970 and 1973 (thanks to two-time MVP Mel Daniels, George McGinnis, and Roger Brown), heights they've never got close to since.

Joining the NBA

The Pacers joined the NBA in 1976-77, and they booked their first action in the playoffs in 1980-81, losing to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round.

It wasn't until the mid-90s that they actually made serious inroads into the post-season. It was during Larry Brown's debut season as head coach that Indiana forced their way through to the Conference Finals in both 1993-94 and 1994-95, losing to the New York Knicks and then the Orlando Magic.

NBA Finals Debut

The great Larry Bird took charge from 1997-98 when his team lost out to the Chicago Bulls in the Conference Finals, and the following season he helped the team to their first-ever finals place in their NBA history when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games, despite the efforts of franchise legend Reggie Miller.

They have never reached the NBA Finals since.

Under Frank Vogel, the Indiana Pacers powered to Conference Finals losses to the Miami Heat in back-to-back seasons, and his successor Nate McMillan followed up with successive first-round playoff losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Recent seasons have been fairly stale, and the team is some way off where their fans would expect them to be, albeit 2023/24 saw the team reach the Conference Finals for the first time since 2013/14.
