Bundesliga 2023/24 – Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund Set for Another Epic Battle, Who’s Promoted, Who’s Down and Where to Get the Best Priced Ticket for the German Top Tier

The 2022/23 Bundesliga season ended in immense excitement following a fascinating title race that culminated in Borussia Dortmund failing to hold on to their place at the summit on the final day of the campaign.

The German top tier was as well attended as always, with over 13 million in attendance at games during the 22/23 season. Fans from all over the world attend matches in Germany, with interest in Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund clearly being the highest.

Those seeking to buy Bundesliga tickets can do so with confidence at SeatPick, where availability is higher than anywhere else. You can buy tickets for every Bundesliga game in 2023/24 at prices that are competitive and include no hidden fees.

Bayern Munich Pip Dortmund in Enthralling Finale

Though Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga is no massive shock, this was, after all, the Bavarian giants’ 11th title in a row; the fact that they were taken all the way to the wire by rivals Borussia Dortmund does bode well for the state of the league as a whole.

Bayern Munich axed manager Julian Nagelsmann in late March after a loss at Bayer Leverkusen gave the upper hand to Dortmund. So in came former PSG and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel led the team to a key win over Dortmund in his first game in charge, but losses to Mainz and RB Leipzig meant that the Westfalenstadion side were in the top spot for the final gameweek of the Bundesliga season.

All Edin Terzic’s side needed was a home win over Mainz to secure their first domestic title in over a decade.

Incredibly they found themselves two goals down inside 25 minutes, and though they leveled deep into injury time, it proved immaterial as Bayern Munich had themselves secured the win they needed via a late late goal from Jamal Musiala at FC Koln.

The disappointment of the failed title challenge is something Borussia Dortmund fans will hope to overcome for 2023/24, but perhaps a bigger problem may come in the form of the likely departure of hugely talented English youngster Jude Bellingham.

There will undoubtedly be a sense that 2022/23 was Dortmund’s best chance to overhaul Bayern, and now with Tuchel in place, the German giants may prove a tougher nut to crack.

After all, 2022/23 was very much a misfiring one for Bayern Munich, with a number of issues overcome at the very last minute. New signing Sadio Mane struggled with form and had issues in the dressing room, and they have struggled to negate the loss of iconic forward Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

They are sure to invest heavily in the summer as they seek to use Tuchel as a key part of the long-term plans.

The Outsiders for 2023/24

2022/23 saw a number of also-rans mount pushes for glory, with the likes of Freiburg and Union Berlin performing minor miracles to secure European football for the next season.

In 2023/24, there may be a genuine challenge from big spenders RB Leipzig with Marco Rose impressing in charge of the team.

They were certainly buoyed by the return of Timo Werner following his failed spell at Chelsea, and they may well surprise a few people in the upcoming season.

Going Up, Going Down

Hertha Berlin and Schalke were consigned to the second tier, but VfB Stuttgart look well placed to avoid going the same way via the relegation play-offs.

Coming up are FC Heidenheim for their first foray into the Bundesliga, and they are joined by Darmstadt 98.

European Qualification

Bayern Munich will once again be looking to make strides in the Champions League, as will Borussia Dortmund, and they are joined by RB Leipzig and Union Berlin in the premier European club competition.

Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen will take part in the Europa League, and Eintracht Frankfurt will be in the Europa Conference League for 2023/24.
