The Premier League season has been exhilarating so far and with last season’s European success, the Premier League has cemented itself as the leading league in Europe in terms of sponsorships, demand and viewership from fans.

We at Seatpick.com believe that the ticket market is a great way to measure real demand from fans, as it is completely driven by supply and demand. We decided to dive into the data and see if the Premier League is in-fact the biggest league in Europe and if there is an increasing gap between the rest of the European leagues.

We analysed the top 5 leagues in Europe from over 20 different ticket sites and looked at the average ticket prices of each league, we found that the Premier League is leading the way with an average of €221 per ticket.

Coming in second is the Spanish La Liga with an average of €186 per ticket, close by is the Seria A with an average of €174, then the Bundesliga with €171 and finally the French league.

The biggest change in percentage increase does come from the Premier League, compared to the past two seasons, there is an increase of 13% in terms of the average ticket prices that were recorded across the league.

The average ticket price for a get in ticket in Europe by League

The average price for a get in ticket has also seen an increase compared to last seasons prices across the European leagues:

League 2019/20 average get-in price per ticket 2018/19 average get-in price per ticket
Premier
League
€138 €128
La Liga €75 €70
Bundesliga €65 €59
Italian
Serie A
€56.80 €65
French
Ligue
€49 €45

From looking at the data that we analysed it is clear that although there is a substantial increase in ticket prices across the Premier League, we still see that the attendance, search volume and ticket sales have tremendously increased.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, the Premier League today enables you to catch two sometimes even three top-level European clashes in a single week without the need to travel far, top that with last years success and big signing and you can expect this trend to continue.

Currently, there is no real competition even with teams such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga or even the huge demand and attendance in the Bundesliga.

The Premier League is jumping forward in major leaps in terms of demand and it is clearly shown in the ticket market as well.
