AFC Ajax History

AFC Ajax was founded in 1900 and has gone on to become one of the most recognised football teams in the world. The Amsterdam-based outfit is the most successful club in the Netherlands, having won a 36th league title in 2022. The majority of these have come in the Eredivisie era, which commenced in 1956.

Since then, the Dutch side hasn't fared well in Europe's premier club competition.

This was Ajax's best result in Europe since reaching the quarter-finals in 2002/03, when they lost out to eventual winners AC Milan.
