Who Will Win The 2026 Ballon d'Or?
Kane's main rivals for the Ballon d'Or crown are Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe.
Kane won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal with Bayern Munich, while also playing a starring role for England at the World Cup, where the Three Lions finished third.
Yamal was instrumental in Barcelona winning La Liga and Spain's World Cup victory. Despite his remarkable achievements at such a young age, it looks like the right winger has not quite done enough to pip Kane.
Mbappe was the World Cup's top goalscorer with 10 goals, but he failed to win any club or international silverware with Real Madrid or France.

Ballon d'Or Winners: The Last 10 Ceremonies
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominated the Ballon d'Or for more than a decade, but the last two ceremonies have produced first-time winners. Rodri won in 2024 with Manchester City, before Ousmane Dembélé took the award in 2025 after helping Paris Saint-Germain win the Champions League. No Ballon d'Or was awarded in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the women's award was first presented in 2018.

| 2023 | Lionel Messi (Argentina) | Aitana Bonmatí (Spain) |
| 2022 | Karim Benzema (France) | Alexia Putellas (Spain) |

Messi won four of the last 10 Ballon d'Ors, and eight in total, a record. Real Madrid players won four of the last 10, more than any other club.
If Kane wins on Monday night, he will become the first Englishman to win the Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001, and the first Bayern Munich player to win it since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981.
