Manchester United Face Tricky Sevilla Task as Erik ten Hag Seeks More Silverware In Debut Season at Old Trafford

This has arguably been one of the strongest seasons in UEFA Europa League history, with a huge number of massive teams taking part, and we are now down to the final eight, and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag may well be feeling quietly confident that he could secure a second crown in his first season in charge at Old Trafford.

The Premier League side have already taken home the EFL Cup, defeating Newcastle United in the final at Wembley Stadium, and Man United fans still have a chance to buy tickets for their upcoming Europa League Quarter-Final clash with Sevilla.

Manchester United vs Sevilla – April 13th and April 20th

Manchester United have enjoyed their Europa League run thus far, easing through the group stage with five wins from six before coming up against European giants Barcelona in the first knockout phase round.

They then took on further Spanish opposition in the form of Real Betis, who they beat both home and away, and now face yet another La Liga team, Sevilla, and remember they also played Real Sociedad in the group phase.

Dutch boss Erik ten Hag, the team have certainly started to make progress, and in the cup competitions, they have excelled and have an FA Cup Semi-Final against Brighton in the mix in what promises to be a packed end-of-season schedule.

They are firing on all cylinders in attacks, with Marcus Rashford, in particular, being hugely productive, the England international having already racked up 27 goals (six in the Europa League) in all competitions this season.

Defensively they’ve been less sound, with a 7-0 drubbing at rivals Liverpool being a real low point. The team is still looking to secure a much-needed top-four finish in the Premier League and currently are well placed behind title challengers Arsenal and Manchester City, who are miles ahead of the rest.

Do Sevilla have enough in their armoury to stop Man United? Well, they certainly have pedigree in this tournament, having won the competition a record six times, including most recently in 2019-20.

However, this is not the same side that finished fourth in La Liga last season. They have struggled domestically and are now under their third manager of the season, Jose Luis Mendilibar.

If you are a Man United fan who is keen on the idea of travelling to Andalusia to see their team in European action, there are still plenty of Sevilla vs Manchester United tickets available, as well as for the Manchester United vs Sevilla tickets for the home leg at Old Trafford.

Other Europa League Tickets and Ties

In keeping with the strength of the Europa League this season, it’s worth noting the other top teams are still in the competition.

Juventus vs Sporting is a particularly tasty-looking encounter, while the quarter-final clash between Dutch Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord and Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma could be a very close contest.

The final last-eight match is between Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise
