Sunderland Heading Back to Portugal & the San Siro
It’s fair to say that Sunderland’s Europa League League Phase draw was kind for the travelling Mackem.
In mid-October, Sunderland head back to Portugal for a clash with second division side SCU Torreense. A week later there is a trip to Lech Poznan in Poland.
Following two more Europa League home games, Sunderland play the stand-out European away day on their fixture list: AC Milan away in the San Siro!
Sunderland’s final away day in the league phase of the Europa League is a trip to Anderlecht in Belgium.
Sunderland Still to Confirm Europa League Away Ticket Allocations
At the time of writing, with Sunderland not playing an away match in Europe until October 15, 2026, the Premier League side have yet to confirm their away ticket allocations for the four games.
In late August, Sunderland confirmed on their official website: “Ticket phasing for the first away fixture of the competition, against SCU Torreense on 15 October, will be communicated in due course. More detailed information on the ticketing process for away fixtures will also be shared at this point. There will be no digital tickets for Europa League games this season.”
Sunderland away tickets are usually snapped up by season ticket holders. There is also a “Black Cat Points” (BCP) system for season ticket holders that rewards fans for the amount of games they have been to.
Teams in the Europa League receive 5% of the overall allocation but demand is expected to be huge from Sunderland’s travelling army who have waited decades to play in Europe.

Even without an official number from the club, UEFA’s standard 5% rule gives a reasonable guide to how many tickets Sunderland can expect at each ground.
That rule is applied to the home club’s total stadium capacity, not to how many seats are actually put on general sale.

Predicting exact prices months out is never an exact science, but the data already points to a clear pattern for Sunderland’s away days.
