Mexico's Three US Friendlies vs Colombia, Peru & Chile: Key Takeaways

  • Mexico plays three confirmed US-based friendlies: Colombia on September 26 in Baltimore, Peru on September 29 in New Jersey, and Chile on October 6 in Los Angeles, marking new coach Rafael Marquez's first matches in charge.
  • Tickets start from $70 for Mexico vs Colombia, while Mexico vs Peru is the priciest game so far, averaging $357 due to Sports Illustrated Stadium's smaller capacity.
  • A possible fourth game, Mexico vs USA in Phoenix on October 3, has been reported but is not yet part of the official FMF announcement.

El Tri were the most expensive ticket at the World Cup group stages, with their home games in enormous demand. Despite not conceding a goal in their opening four matches, Mexico exited the 2026 edition in the World Cup round they usually do: The Last 16.

Javier Aguirre's last game in charge of Mexico came in an epic 3-2 defeat to England at Estadio Azteca.

Mexico fans in America do not have to wait long to see how new coach Rafael Marquez gets along, with the FMF confirming three matches for the international break of September and October.

Mexico vs Colombia, Peru & Chile: The Three Confirmed Friendlies

El Tri will take on Colombia, Peru and Chile in three international friendlies. Mexico will take on Colombia in Maryland, three days later they face Peru in New York and in October they play Chile in Los Angeles.

With so many Mexicans in the USA, there is expected to be huge demand for all these matches. Particularly the first game against Colombia, who also command a huge following in America too.

The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol announced these matches with plenty of hyperbole: "Colombia, Peru, and Chile will be the first challengers in the project led by Rafael Márquez. These are national teams with great tradition and competitiveness; they will provide demanding tests for a Mexican squad embarking on a new path with optimism, commitment, and the backing of its fans."

Mexico vs Colombia, Peru & Chile: Ticket Prices

Here's how starting prices compare across SeatPick's live listings for all three games.

Date Match & Venue Starting Price ($)
Sept 26, 2026 Mexico vs Colombia – M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore $70
Sept 29, 2026 Mexico vs Peru – Sports Illustrated Stadium, Harrison, NJ $164
Oct 6, 2026 Mexico vs Chile – LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles $86

Mexico vs Colombia is the cheapest of the three games to get into, helped by M&T Bank Stadium's near-71,000 capacity.

Mexico vs Peru is the priciest on average at $357, with some listings as high as $887. Sports Illustrated Stadium holds roughly a third of the capacity, and only 588 tickets are currently listed compared to 1,918 for the Colombia game.

Capacity explains most of the price gap. M&T Bank Stadium holds 71,008 fans and Sports Illustrated Stadium just 25,000, so Peru's game has far fewer seats to sell, which pushes both the average and top-end prices higher despite Colombia's game being the bigger draw on paper.

Chile's game is the exception. The LA Memorial Coliseum is the largest venue of the three at over 76,000 capacity, yet only 106 tickets are listed so far, most likely because it's the furthest out on the calendar and sellers haven't released their full inventory yet.

All ticket prices are based on SeatPick resale listings as of August 2, 2026. Prices and availability will change.

Will Mexico Play USA on October 3, 2026?

Over the last few weeks, there have been rumours that Mexico would play four friendlies on US soil in September and October, with one of those games being a match against USA on October 3, 2026.

The rumours turned out to be true for three of the four games, but in the announcement from the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol there was no mention of a match against USA.

As it stands this slot is still open and fans of both teams will no doubt be very keen to see their teams face off in one of international football's most popular rivalries.

This will likely come once USA has confirmed they are continuing with coach Mauricio Pochettino. The USA vs Mexico friendly is tipped to take place in Phoenix.

Mexico Also Confirm Home Soil Match in Nations League

As part of their announcement of the three friendlies in the USA, Mexico also confirmed they would play on home soil in the November international break.

This will be in the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals, but they did not confirm the date of the match or who their opponents will be.

The get-in price for Mexico games in the World Cup was well over $1,000 on the resale market for what was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The Nations League match in November and subsequent matches at the now refurbished Estadio Azteca will be a great opportunity to see El Tri in action on home soil.
