It's official. U2 are going back to stadiums in 2027 with Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth, their first stadium tour since 2019.
Six dates are confirmed so far in Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires, with UK, European and North American shows promised "in the coming weeks". Here's every confirmed date, when tickets go on sale and what we know about a UK leg.

A U2 tour isn't just another date on the calendar. This is a band that sold out all 40 nights of their Sphere residency in Las Vegas, grossing over $244 million.

The tour opens with two nights at Mexico City's Estadio GNP Seguros, then heads to São Paulo's Estádio do Morumbi and Buenos Aires' Estadio Monumental in March. U2 say these will be their only Latin American stops in 2027.

Tickets go to U2.com subscribers first, split by membership tier. Both presales close on 21 October at 10pm local time.
General sale follows on 22 October for São Paulo and Buenos Aires. Mexico City runs a separate Ticketmaster artist presale that day, with general sale a day later.

Carnaval De Luz: The New U2 Album Behind the 2027 Tour
Back in July, we said a finished album would be the trigger, and so it proved. Carnaval De Luz is U2's 16th studio album and their first record of brand new songs since 2017's Songs of Experience.
It's out on 13 November 2026, right in the band's 50th anniversary year. The 12 tracks include a song honouring Rosalía and a closing number featuring Dolly Parton.
The tour takes its name from "The Greatest Show On Earth", which was co-written with Brian Eno and comes with an Anton Corbijn video. It follows "Street of Dreams" and "Silencio" as the third single, after the Days of Ash and Easter Lily EPs earlier this year.
Larry Mullen Jr. Is Back for U2's First Stadium Tour Since 2019
Mullen missed the entire Sphere residency after neck surgery, the first U2 shows without him since 1978. He's now fully back, playing the band's recent surprise gigs at Mount Temple, their old Dublin school, and on Grafton Street.
That makes 2027 the full four-piece's first stadium run since The Joshua Tree tour closed in Mumbai on 15 December 2019. For many younger fans, it'll be their first chance to see U2 in a stadium at all.
U2 UK and Europe 2027 Dates: What We Know So Far
No UK or European dates are confirmed yet. U2's own announcement says more 2027 shows for Europe and North America will follow in the coming weeks.
A homecoming is coming too, with plans for Irish shows "in the works". Earlier reports linked the band to Croke Park, where they played two nights in 2017, but no venue has been named, so keep an eye on U2 Dublin tickets for updates.
In London, U2 played Twickenham on the 2017 Joshua Tree tour and Wembley on the 360° tour in 2009. Earlier rumours also pointed to events in Italy and Germany, but treat any full European date list as speculation until the band confirm it.
