That track earned him his first Grammy Award, which saw him win the Best Traditional R&B Performance award.

Hot on the heels of that release, Childish Gambino surprised fans with the non-album single, This is America which broke all manner of records. It went to number one in the US and in many other territories and proved a monster success when it comes to the accolades it accrued.

The song won four Grammy Awards, which were for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video. Indeed, the official music video for the track has gone to be considered among the best of its genre.
