Future Biography

Nayvadius Demun Wilburn, aka Future, was born in November 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia and started his musical journey as a member of a Georgia-based collective called the Dungeon Family. The hip-hop/funk outfit was his launching pad and he chose to go solo and move into a rap career.

Future's debut single, Tony Montana, helped him to make a real breakthrough in the industry, and he has not looked back since. Several mixtapes followed

In 2012, his debut album, Pluto, was released. It was an instant hit, breaking into the US Billboard Albums Chart top ten. A number of singles from the record were a success, including Magic, Same Damn Time, Turn On the Light and Neva End (featuring Kelly Rowland).

Two years later, he released Honest, and in 2015, his third album, DS2, became his first number-one US Billboard hit and also charted well across Europe. That studio album includes a collaboration with Drake and he has also worked extensively with other massive stars, including Kanye West, who he teamed up with for Keep It Burnin and I Won.

In 2016, he featured on the front cover of Rolling Stone

Evol (2016), Future (2017), Hndrxx (2017), The Wizrd (2019), High Off Life (2020), and I Never Liked You (2022) all reached the top of the US Billboard charts, which goes some way to showing just how consistently successful Future has been. This feat is all the more impressive, considering that the rap field is a very fickle one where longevity is very hard to achieve.
