About Miami Heat Tickets 2024/25

The Miami Heat joined the NBA as part of the 1987 expansion of the league, which also saw the Orlando Magic, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves added to the mix, and it would be fair to say that their first couple of seasons were pretty much blowouts.

Under head coach Ron Rothstein, the team slumped to just 15 and 18 wins, respectively, in their opening two campaigns, but by 1991-92 they had made it to the NBA playoffs for the first time, losing to the Chicago Bulls in three games.

Things Hotting Up for the Heat

Things really started to improve for the Heat under Pat Riley, who was head coach of the team for eight seasons.

During this period, the team finished top of the Atlantic Division on four successive occasions, and in 1996-97, they beat the New York Knicks in the Conference Semifinals before losing to the Bulls again in the Conference Finals.

In 2005-06 Miami Heat won their first-ever NBA Championship as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals in six games. Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O'Neal were the catalysts for this success.

Four in a Row

The Miami Heat then hit a real purple patch to secure four successive NBA Finals series; this was down to the presence of star players LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

In the first of these four finals, they lost out to the Mavericks but then defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs to win back-to-back titles before then losing to the Spurs in 2013-14.

During this peak, the Heat went on a historic 27-game winning streak, leading to a regular season record of 66-16, which remains a franchise best.

In 2019-20 they once again secured a seat at the NBA Finals table but were defeated in six games by the Los Angles Lakers, with former Heat star LeBron James doing much of the damage against his former team.

In Good Hands

Under long-term coach Erik Spoelstra and with legend Pat Riley as president the Heat have proven very consistent, once again reaching the NBA Finals in 2022/23, where they went down in five games to the Denver Nuggets

Southeast Division Rivals

The Heat sits in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference alongside the Atlanta Hawks, the Washington Wizards, the Orlando Magic, and the Charlotte Hornets.

Miami Heat has won 15 divisional titles, which shows the level of their consistency over the years.

Kaseya Center Guide

The Miami Heat play their home games at the Kaseya Center, which was previously known as the American Airlines Arena.

The venue has a capacity of 19,600 for basketball games and is a great place to watch NBA action.

The Heat is a very popular team in the region, and this means trying to get hold of a ticket to see them play is by no means an easy task, especially for big games in the playoffs where there may not be many tickets left.
