Artist Biography

Amble formed in late 2022 when Robbie Cunningham and Oisín McCaffrey, both former teachers, started playing covers together in pubs around Galway.

Ross McNerney, a data scientist by training, joined soon after for his mandolin and banjo skills, and the trio was complete.

Hailing from Leitrim, Sligo, and Longford respectively, the three write from firsthand experience of rural Irish life, drawing on folk influences like John Prine and Joni Mitchell.

Their debut single, "Mariner Boy," released in 2023, built momentum through word of mouth and social media rather than a big label push.

That groundswell led to a 2024 signing with Warner Records, and from there the band's audience expanded well beyond Ireland.

Amble's early run of releases included the 2023 live EP Amble (Live) and 2024's Of Land and Sea, both of which built their reputation for lyrical depth.

Still with Warner, they followed with The Commons EP in 2024, featuring the tracks "Little White Chapel" and "Thoughts Flood Back to You."

Their debut full-length album, Reverie, arrived in May 2025 and became the most-streamed Irish album of the year in their home country.
