The English Premier League is always a fun competition to watch, and this weekend’s games were no exception. The kickoff was at 3 pm just like it used to be in previous years!
All teams played on Saturday with one big match occurring early in the day: Crystal Palace hosted Manchester City at home – what could go wrong?
Well history has showed that when these two meet up City can often struggle. Palace once again managed an unexpected victory thanks largely due to some great goalkeeping from Vicente Guaita.
A tough decision by Pep
It was a tough match for Manchester City’s defence as they lost to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Laporte and Stones form one of, if not the best centre back pairings this season; however, after recovering from injury Guardiola opted to start with Ruben Dias over John Stones because he believed that his team needed more speed on their wings. This lead them into making several errors during both halves including giving away an early goal (which also resulted in a sending off). Wilfried Zaha was the scorer for Palace.
It was quite the lively 2nd half
Manchester City attempted to equalize despite being one man down. Riyad Mahrez appeared to score the equalizer, but his provider Phil Foden was offside.
It was therefore ruled out. Conor Callagher bagged Crystal Palace the three points by doubling their lead late in the game.
Patrick Vieira’s men accomplished an amazing feat. The day was a bad one for Manchester City, especially since Premier League leader Chelsea won their match and extended its lead to five points.
