As the UEFA Champions League reaches its closing stages, let’s take a closer look at the monumental ties that the two remaining Premier League teams have in front of them.
The UEFA Champions League quarter-finals are a little lopsided in terms of the quality of teams remaining, and it’s worth noting that Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich tickets, as well as Chelsea vs. Real Madrid tickets, are still very much available via SeatPick, so don’t miss out!
Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich – 11th April & 19th April
Pep Guardiola’s side are desperate for a first-ever Champions League crown, and the way they thumped RB Leipzig in the last round was an indication of just how effective they can be at this level.
While Man City may be trailing Arsenal in the Premier League title race, they are the big favourites to win the Champions League this time around, and they stand a good chance of making it past Bayern Munich though they will be a tougher nut to crack with Thomas Tuchel now in charge of the Allianz Arena side.
Erling Haaland has a slight injury issue that ruled him out of contention for their recent win over Liverpool, but even without the Norwegian goal machine, you should not rule anything past this City squad, which is absolutely jam-packed with talent.
Tuchel’s arrival at Bayern started well, to say the least, with his side beating arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund 4-2 to return to the top of the Bundesliga. This isn’t to say that the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann was more than a tad harsh, but the fact that the former Chelsea manager has won the Champions League before may well have come into the team board’s thinking as they brought in a more experienced campaigner at the helm.
Manchester City fans who want to see just how far their team’s Champions League adventure could go this season can get tickets for both legs of this big-name clash.
Manchester City vs Bayern Munich tickets at the Etihad Stadium are selling fast but are still available.
Real Madrid vs Chelsea – 12th April – 18th April
One imagines that Blues boss Graham Potter is very much living on borrowed time, which may seem incredible, but let’s face it, Chelsea are not known for hanging around when it comes to firing managers who are underperforming.
Potter’s Premier League form has been horrendous, and their latest defeat, at home to Aston Villa, was another example of a team that lacks direction and has pretty much zero by way of a cutting edge up front.
However, Chelsea’s form in the Champions League is a world away from their domestic league record.
In the last round, goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz saw Chelsea come back to overcome Borussia Dortmund and remember also, this is a side that beat AC Milan twice in the group stages.
With that in mind, beating Real Madrid, reigning Champions League holders isn’t beyond the realms of possibility, but it is still a massive task.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side are also not doing all that well in their domestic league but are still second-placed, so their dip in form can not be compared in any way to the travesty that’s occurring in West London.
Chelsea fans who want to book a memorable trip to the Spanish capital can still get Real Madrid vs Chelsea tickets, as well as tickets for Chelsea vs Real Madrid tickets at Stamford Bridge.
