We pulled starting resale prices for all 380 fixtures of the 2026/27 season, then averaged them out across each club's 19 home league games.
The result is a genuine surprise at the top. It isn't Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United sitting at number one, it's newly promoted Coventry City.
The Sky Blues' cheapest available ticket averages £397 across the season, more than any other club in the division. That's down to the Coventry Building Society Arena's small capacity (32,609) meeting huge curiosity from fans wanting to tick off a ground they haven't visited in years.
AFC Bournemouth and Brighton follow in second and third, both clubs with impressive teams alongside compact, sold-out stadiums that keep resale supply tight all season long.
Arsenal are the highest-placed "big six" club at fourth, and Hull City's return to the top flight has pushed them into the top five ahead of established sides like Liverpool and Chelsea.
Supply explains most of this. AFC Bournemouth have just 2,684 tickets available across their entire 19-game home season, and Coventry City only have 3,399. Tottenham Hotspur, by contrast, have 381,369 tickets on offer across the same stretch, more than 140 times as many.

The 10 Most Expensive Premier League Fixtures of the 2026/27 Season
Zooming out from club averages to individual matches tells its own story. Six of the ten priciest fixtures of the entire season involve Coventry City or AFC Bournemouth.
The single most expensive ticket of the whole campaign is Coventry City's home game against Nottingham Forest next May, starting from £1,281. Both sides could still have plenty riding on that result depending on how the table shakes out.
AFC Bournemouth's home date with Manchester United in May carries the highest average resale price of any fixture in the dataset, at £2,878, way above its starting price of £569.
Scarcity is the common thread behind most of these prices. Coventry City vs Nottingham Forest has just 76 tickets available for the entire fixture, and Bournemouth's game with Manchester United only has 163.
The football resale market for Premier League tickets is also, like most businesses, determined by supply and demand.
The two Arsenal fixtures on the list are different. Arsenal vs Tottenham has 10,548 tickets on sale and Arsenal vs Brighton has 8,106, so it's the occasion driving the price here, both are final-weekend fixtures, rather than a shortage of seats.

Nottingham Forest & Manchester United: The Biggest Gap Between Starting and Average Ticket Prices
Starting price only tells half the story. It's the cheapest seat available, not what most fans actually end up paying.
Nottingham Forest have the biggest gap of any club in the league. Their £181 starting price balloons to a £1,107 average once you factor in the full spread of listings, a six-fold jump.
Manchester United aren't far behind. Old Trafford's cheapest tickets start at £138, but the average listing across the season sits at £664, nearly five times higher.
This gap tends to be biggest where a small pool of cheap seats sits alongside a much larger, more expensive premium and hospitality tier, rather than an even spread of pricing throughout the ground.
Forest's case is straightforward scarcity, just 23,335 tickets across their home season. Manchester United's is different. Old Trafford has 308,805 tickets on sale across the season, one of the biggest allocations in the league, so the gap there comes from the sheer range of ticket tiers on offer rather than a shortage of seats.

Season ticket pricing tells us London clubs charge the most to sit in the same seat every week. The resale market for 2026/27 tells a different story.
Across the six London clubs in the Premier League this season, the average resale price is £481. Everywhere else in the country, the average is £672, noticeably higher.
That's the reverse of what you'd expect looking purely at season ticket prices, where London's clubs set the pace. On the resale market, it's the scarcity at clubs like AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City dragging the rest-of-England average up.

Arsenal are the outlier within London, averaging nearly double Chelsea's price and comfortably clear of every other club in the capital.
Fulham are the best-value ticket in London on average price. Away from the capital, this comparison is skewed upward by a handful of high-demand, low-capacity clubs rather than being evenly spread across every club outside London.

All three sides promoted into the Premier League for 2026/27, Coventry City as champions, Ipswich Town as runners-up and Hull City through the play-offs, carry a clear premium over the league average.
Coventry City's £397 starting price is more than double the £165 league average, by far the biggest promoted-club premium in the division. Hull City and Ipswich Town also sit well above average, at £237 and £194 respectively.
Supply tells the same story. Coventry have just 3,399 tickets across their home season, Hull have 6,430 and Ipswich have 8,436, all tiny next to the 119,162 league average.
