The Link Between Season Ticket Prices & Premier League Resale Market
It is not cheap to watch the Premier League, whether you have a season ticket, membership or purchase from the second hand resale market.
Ultimately, with the majority of Premier League tickets sold to season ticket holders, it is the clubs that set the price of seeing England's top flight. And there is a real barrier to entry in 2026 too, the vast majority of Premier League clubs have waiting lists just to have the right to buy a season ticket.
This then filters down: the Premier League clubs set their season ticket prices, and in most cases they have gone up. As a result, the secondary market reacts. Of course, there are factors at play once the season kicks off, most emphatically team performance, but it all flows from the original season ticket prices.

London Clubs Lead The Way
Arsenal are quite comfortably the most expensive season ticket in the Premier League. The Gunners have increased prices again, which has not made the headlines it might usually have thanks to their Premier League title win of 2025/2026.
Fellow London clubs Chelsea and Spurs are the next most expensive. Neither side made Europe last season and poor performances on the pitch, despite both clubs winning a European trophy the season before, means they both froze prices.
Everton, now in their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, are fourth most expensive. The likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Aston Villa follow next up.
Promoted sides Hull City and Ipswich Town come in as amongst the cheapest season tickets. Sandwiched between them, as the second cheapest ticket (which was frozen across seasons), is Manchester City.
The Manchester City Anomaly
Pep Guardiola may have left Manchester City but they are still expected to challenge at the top of the Premier League table and in Europe.
They may have dominated the English game in recent years with amongst the best players in the world, but Manchester City simply don't have the fanbase to match.
Thanks to a renovation at the Etihad Stadium, capacity has moved from 53,400 seats to 62,700. As a result, Manchester City are one of only two Premier League clubs (the other being Brighton) where you can still buy a season ticket.
This also means that Manchester City tickets are amongst the bargain items to secure for any football team in Europe and arguably the world. No other side, packed with stars like Erling Haaland, offers similar prices either via season tickets or on the resale market.

There is a wide range of season tickets for all clubs in the Premier League. When it comes to the most expensive options, again the London clubs dominate, with Fulham surprisingly still showcasing the most expensive of all season tickets in England's top flight.
Leeds United offer the best value, which might explain why the atmosphere at Elland Road is amongst the best in the division. The likes of Liverpool and Manchester United offer historic clubs alongside iconic stadiums and reasonable prices.
Premier League Season Ticket Waiting Lists
Perhaps you see the prices above and think you would like to buy a season ticket at a Premier League club. It is though, not as simple as that.
The vast majority of Premier League clubs do not offer season tickets as they are all sold out. Arsenal's waiting list to buy a season ticket is believed to be over 110,000 names long.
The Manchester United waiting list for a season ticket is more than 125,000. These figures are self reported by clubs or trade press estimates, and are not independently audited.
Liverpool's waiting list for new season tickets has been closed since 2011. Tottenham's waiting list was thought to approach 100,000 but last season's relegation battle may have shortened that considerably.
Season ticket numbers are not really falling because of weak demand. They are falling, where they are falling, because clubs are choosing to shrink the season ticket pool. A developing trend is that clubs are just replacing cheaper season ticket holders with higher spending matchday fans and members.
Comparing Premier League Season Ticket Prices With Resale Tickets
If you cannot get a season ticket for a Premier League club, there are membership options too. These are not always certain to secure you a ticket for an upcoming game, which will lead you to the resale market.
SeatPick aggregates all the reliable resale ticket sites to ensure you don't pay over the odds for a Premier League game. From the table below you can see that season ticket holders at the likes of Coventry City, Bournemouth and Hull City have sweet deals.
As it stands, these sides command some of the highest prices on the resale market. We expect Coventry City and Hull City ticket prices to come down significantly. During the pre-season period, newly promoted sides will often have extremely high prices.
Bournemouth are a bit of an outlier since their ground is so small. The Vitality Stadium is just over 11,000 and the supply for Cherries tickets is just too tight.

Whilst Manchester City are amongst the cheapest season tickets and on the resale market, they remain an anomaly too.
Premier League Season Tickets 2026/27: Frequently Asked Questions
Which Premier League club has the cheapest season ticket?
Manchester City offer the cheapest season ticket in the Premier League at just £425. This exceptional value is thanks to the club's expanded Etihad Stadium capacity and the fact season tickets remain available for purchase at Manchester City, unlike the vast majority of other Premier League clubs.
Why do London Premier League clubs charge more for season tickets?
London clubs command premium season ticket prices due to higher demand, prestigious stadiums, strong historical pedigree, and greater matchday revenue potential. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham all feature among the most expensive options.
How do Premier League season ticket prices compare to resale market prices?
Season ticket holders at promoted clubs like Coventry City and Hull City have particularly strong deals. While their season tickets are relatively cheap, resale market prices are much higher due to novelty demand from opposing fans. However, these prices typically normalize during the season.
Can I still buy a Premier League season ticket?
Season tickets at most Premier League clubs are sold out with waiting lists. Manchester City and Brighton are among the few clubs still selling directly to new customers. If a season ticket is unavailable, you can browse resale market options on SeatPick across all 20 Premier League clubs.
