The European club football season is bubbling away nicely, and we are now very much within sight of the final stages of the respective marathons in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France.
Fans of teams all across the continent are getting ready for some truly spectacular clashes that are not only matches of huge significance on a historical basis, based on decades, or even a century or more, of grudges, but also games that will play a big part in who wins what and who qualifies for key European qualification places.
Football tickets are always in high demand, but when it comes to the final months of the season, the interest is doubly high but fortunately, via SeatPick, your chances of being at the big game increase significantly, as do your opportunities to pick up great priced seats for the top fixtures.
So let’s take a closer look at the top ten must-see football matches still left to play in the 2022/23 season.
Premier League Tickets 2022/23
As usual, the closing stages of the Premier League season are focused on three key fronts, the title race, the push for a top-four finish (resulting in a seat at the top table of European football, namely the Champions League), and the battle to stave off relegation to the EFL Championship.
We’ve outlined the three matches that hold the most interest for football fans looking to attend a key match in England this season.
Liverpool vs Arsenal – 9th April: 16:30
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has seen his side rebound from a poor run of form and are now very much in the battle to clinch a hugely important top-four spot, and they’ll face an Arsenal team that are leading the Premier League title race.
This is a classic Premier League encounter, and matches between these two sides are always hard-fought and usually contain more than a few goals, as evidenced by the reverse fixture where Mikel Arteta’s side won 3–2 at the Emirates Stadium.
Manchester City vs Arsenal – 26th April: 20:00
Many matches over the course of the season are incorrectly dubbed title deciders, but this match between top-of-the-table Arsenal and reigning champions Man City is very much the real deal.
Interest in this match in terms of tickets is frankly incredible, and rightly so. It comes with only a few games left to go in the season, and victory for either side will play a massive part in which direction the Premier League trophy heads come the end of May.
There is added spice in the fixture as Mikel Arteta was, of course, Pep Guardiola’s right-hand man at City, and there’s the small matter of two former Etihad Stadium heroes, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, looking to return to the club with a bang.
Liverpool vs Tottenham – 30th April: 16:30
Liverpool and Tottenham don’t have trophies to fight for this season, which is more of a shock to Jurgen Klopp than it is to Antonio Conte, and that makes their head-to-head clash all the more intriguing as both teams set their sights on a top-four finish.
Last season, Klopp’s side were fighting on four fronts but had to settle for two cup triumphs, this time around, their ambitions have become far more singular, and that will make for a fascinating clash.
Fans travel from around the globe to watch games at Anfield, and so so due to the iconic nature of the location and what it represents, and the added gloss of a key match like this makes it all the more exciting to football supporters worldwide.
The German top-tier has seen some false contenders over the past few months, with the likes of Union Berlin and RB Leipzig occasionally toying with a run at the Bundesliga title, but basically, it’s down to two old enemies, and the traditional enemies will go head to head once more before the season is out.
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund – 1st April: 17:30
For the past 13 seasons, the title winners have been either of these two teams, admittedly, with Bayern Munich having won the last ten seasons on the trot, and this time around, the result at the Allianz Arena is likely to play a huge part in deciding where the trophy heads.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham has been in outstanding form at the Westfalenstadion, and Edin Terzic’s side are definitely the side that’s in form, and if they can avoid defeat, or even win, on their visit to Bavaria, then the race is very much on.
However, if Julian Nagelsmann’s side wins, then it seems highly likely that they will once again hold aloft the Bundesliga trophy.
Under Xavi’s direction, Barcelona are very much on the up. Yes, they crashed out of the Champions League and then the Europa League, but their domestic form has been frankly awesome.
The Catalan side are way ahead of their arch-rivals Real Madrid, and they’ve conceded just eight goals in 25 matches thus far, which shows how organized they’ve been at the back, and of course, Robert Lewandowski has done what he does best, score at will at every opportunity he gets.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid – 19th March: 20:00
When it comes to football tickets which are considered a prized commodity, they don’t get any more sought after than this. The El Clasico is a vital fixture in any season, and this time around, if Carlo Ancelotti’s side doesn’t win at the Nou Camp, they may as well forget about retaining the La Liga title.
Any match between these two sides will result in a packed house; make sure you get your hands on tickets for this match by visiting SeatPick.
After a lengthy wait, and we are talking in excess of thirty years, Napoli are sure to finally end their Serie A drought as they are running away with things in Italy right now. Fans who want to flock to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona do so not just for the football but also for the chance to visit the majestic city of Naples.
Napoli vs AC Milan – 2nd April: 19:45
This match between reigning champions and likely winners could well be the one that decides this season’s Serie A race, and the stadium is sure to be rocking with an insane atmosphere for this mouthwatering clash.
Luciano Spaletti’s side have been in imperious form this season, winning an astonishing 22 games from their 26 matches thus far, and they are currently a whopping 21 points clear of the Rossoneri.
PSG are well on course to clinch the Ligue 1 title once again. This is hardly surprising given the stars on show at the Parc des Princes, and while many fans will seek to get tickets to see Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe on show, as they no doubt trash another French rival, we’ve handpicked a far more interesting clash to consider for a possible footballing jaunt.
Lyon vs Marseille – 23rd April: 19:00
These two sides are big rivals, and matches between the French giants are often ferocious, and you can expect fireworks at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais for this one. Lyon boss Laurent Blanc, a former Marseille player, is looking to get Lyon back where they belong near the top of the table, while Marseille, managed by Croat Igor Tudor, are arguably the only real challenger to PSG’s ongoing dominance.
