Two teams from each of the 10 qualifying groups will secure their spot at next summer’s UEFA European Championship which is set to take place at 10 venues across Germany.
All is not lost for the teams who don’t make the cut. The play-offs will take place in March, in which the three final teams will secure their spot at Euro 2024.
Before that, there are a few crucial qualifiers set to take place in the upcoming November fixtures. In this blog, we’ve taken a look at the three standout Euro 2024 qualifiers. Israel vs Switzerland – 15/11/2023
Israel is a nation yet to participate in a UEFA European Championship tournament. However, they currently find themselves with an excellent opportunity to qualify for next year’s edition. Their match against Switzerland was initially supposed to be played in Israel in October. Unfortunately, the fixture was postponed until November due to war breaking out in the region.
Switzerland beat Israel 3-0 on home soil in March 2023. Yet, Israel have gone unbeaten since that disappointing result, and will be confident of getting a positive result this time around.
A win against Switzerland would put Israel in a strong position to secure an automatic qualification spot for next summer’s tournament. It’s unclear where this match will take place, but UEFA will soon announce a neutral stadium in another country. Once the venue is revealed, fans will be able to buy tickets for this crucial encounter on SeatPick.
Ukraine vs Italy – 20/11/2023
England have already secured their spot at Euro 2024. Now, Ukraine and Italy must battle it out for the second automatic qualification spot in Group C. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, this match will take place in Germany. In October, the Ukrainian Football Association confirmed this crucial meeting will be held at Bayer Leverkusen’s BayArena.
Italy are overwhelming favourites to beat North Macedonia on home soil, and those three points would take them level with Ukraine. The final match of the group is Ukraine vs Italy. For Ukraine to qualify, they will need to beat the current European champions.
Ukraine has never recorded a win against Italy in their entire history. November 20th would be the perfect moment to end their winless streak. Grab tickets to this match and many other Euro qualifiers on SeatPick.
Wales vs Turkey – 21/11/2023
Wales beat Croatia 2-1 in the October internationals to give themselves a fighting chance of securing automatic qualification. The Dragons are aiming to qualify for the third consecutive European Championship tournament. Turkey have already secured qualification, leaving Wales and Croatia to battle it out for the second automatic spot.
If Wales beat Armenia and Turkey in their final two group games, Rob Page’s side will be guaranteed to finish above Croatia due to their better head-to-head record.
Turkey did beat Wales 2-0 in the reverse fixture, but they have nothing to play for in their final group game at the Cardiff City Stadium. Plus, Wales boast an unbeaten home record against Turkey, and will be counting on their 12th man in their bid to extend it.
