Interest in the English top tier, from all corners of the globe, is frankly mind-boggling and seemingly is always on the rise. This is also evident when it comes to the rush to secure tickets for every game.

To get you in the mood for the season, we’ve compiled a list of the must-see games for 2023/24. These are matches that are either historically significant or are prime games of interest for the coming campaign.
Note that the dates for most of these fixtures are likely to change a tad, albeit still taking place within the gameweek itself.
Burnley vs. Man City – Friday, 11th August
This, in many ways, is a David and Goliath battle and has the added bonus of being pretty much a local derby, with the two being separated by little more than 20 miles.
This encounter is a season opener and sees former Man City favourite Vincent Kompany, now Clarets boss, taking on his former club and his former manager in the shape of Pep Guardiola.
Some may feel this will be a walk in the park for big spenders City, but there is a decent chance that a slip-up could occur at Turf Moor.
Chelsea vs. Liverpool – Sunday, 13th August
As Premier League rivals go, these two have some rich history, and you can expect a plethora of yellow cards and perhaps a red one or two when Liverpool arrives at Stamford Bridge.
In 2023/24, this match sees Mauricio Pochettino take charge of the Blues for his first competitive game in charge, and Chelsea fans will hope that the former Spurs boss can erase the nightmare of 2022/23. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will hope that the great run of form that his side displayed last season can continue into the new campaign.
Arsenal vs. Man United – Saturday, 2nd September
It would be fair to say that both these teams are in the midst of an ongoing battle to retain their former glories. For much of the Premier League era, when these two sides met, it was basically a title decider, but it’s been a while since that’s been the case.
Mikel Arteta has certainly got Arsenal back into gear, and the Gunners boss will have to hope that his side can forget all about the way they effectively threw away the title in 2022/23. In Erik ten Hag, Man United have a manager who is also definitely moving the club in the right direction.
Tottenham vs. Chelsea – Saturday, 4th November
This London derby is never without incident, and it’s a game that even the neutral will be watching, not least because every challenge is likely to be of the blood and thunder persuasion.
For 2023/24, both teams will be under new management, and that means by November, when the two meet for the first time, it will be fairly clear just how far or how little both Ange Postecoglou and Mauricio Pochettino have taken their respective sides.
Luton vs. Man City – Saturday, 9th December
These two have never met in the Premier League era, and the contrast between the two will never be more evident than when Manchester City fans arrive at the relatively sparse and underwhelming Kenilworth Road. That isn’t to say the place won’t be intimidating for opposition sides, just that not many will be in attendance at the tiny venue.
Hatters boss Rob Edwards produced a miracle to take Luton up to promised land of the Premier League, and it will be enthralling to see just how Guardiola and his assembled stars take to the visit to Luton.
Liverpool vs. Arsenal – Saturday, 23rd December
When Arsenal face Liverpool, especially at Anfield, there tends to be no shortage of entertainment. Every encounter is usually a goal glut, and the atmosphere is on a knife edge on Merseyside.
In 2022/23, these two played out two crackers, and Arsenal arguably saw their title hopes go up in smoke when they lost a two-goal lead. In 2023/24, this game comes up just ahead of the festive season and is very much a pre-Christmas Day cracker.
Man City vs. Man United – Saturday, 2nd March
The Manchester Derby is a game like no other, and interest in Manchester City vs. Manchester United tickets is always intense, and it’s easy to see why. Over the course of the Premier League era, you could argue that United have had the upper hand for the longer duration, but it now feels like an age since that was the case.
The fact that the red half of the city had to watch on as their noisy neighbours pulled off a treble will not have been taken well by the United faithful, not least as an FA Cup final defeat they suffered was a key element of the trio they secured. Ten Hag will hope to hamper any repeat of such a success in 2023/24.
Everton vs. Liverpool – Saturday,16th March
These two local rivals are just 970 metres apart, with the famous Stanley Park keeping the two sides apart, but it’s been decades since the Toffees could claim to be anywhere near their neighbours in terms of playing success.
2023/24 offers Everton, and manager Sean Dyche, the chance of redemption after they stayed the right side of the relegation line, and perhaps this year, they’ll get the better of Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Remarkably Everton haven’t beaten Liverpool at Goodison Park since October 2010!
Man City vs. Arsenal – Saturday, 30th March
Man City are very much something of a jinx for Arsenal, and you have to go all the way back to 2015 for the last time they collected a win at the Etihad Stadium and the manner in which Guardiola and co. reeled in Arteta’s men to win the 2022/23 title will take some shaking from a psychological perspective.
A year older and wiser, perhaps Arsenal are now in a better place to unseat perennial Premier League title holders Man City in 2023/24. Or will City power past the North London side again? It could frankly go either way, which is what makes interest in Man City vs. Arsenal tickets so very high for the coming season.
Liverpool vs. Tottenham – Saturday, 4th May
As we get to the business end of the season, a match of this magnitude will always bring in the punters. The Premier League clash is one that usually results in end-to-end action, with 2022/23’s last-gasp 4-3 Liverpool win being a fine example, secured through a late late Diogo Jota winner.
For 2023/24, the game, coming in the final weeks of the campaign, could well be very significant for both teams, with neither side looking for a repeat of their respective sub-standard displays of the previous year.
