About Scottish League Cup Tickets 2024/25

The first edition of the Scottish League Cup was held during the 1946/47 season, making this the oldest national League Cup in world football. Rangers were the inaugural winners and have gone to become the most successful club in the history of this competition.

The Scottish League Cup (also known as the Premier Sports Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a huge attraction for Scottish football fans, yet tickets aren't always easy to come by.

Fortunately, you can see all the action live and in person with the help of SeatPick. Compare ticket prices at your fingertips and secure your preferred seats with a 100% money-back guarantee on every purchase made through our platform.

Scottish League Cup Format

The Scottish League Cup is open to all clubs in the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), with a total of 45 teams taking part in the annual tournament.

Scottish Premiership sides taking part in UEFA competitions are exempt from the first round of the League Cup, which comprises eight groups of five teams. 11 clubs progress to the Round of 16, at which point the Premiership heavyweights enter the competition.

The knockouts then proceed as usual, with the winners of the two semi-final matches advancing to the Scottish League Cup Final at Hampden Park.

Scottish League Cup Winners

No fewer than 16 clubs have won the Scottish League Cup, though in recent years – as with Scottish football in general – it has often been the same two teams picking up the silverware.

Glasgow Rangers are the most decorated club in this tournament, having claimed their 28th Scottish League Cup title in 2024.

This came 12 months after their bitter rivals Celtic lifted this trophy for the 21st time. Played at Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium, the Scottish League Cup Final has been contested by Celtic & Rangers at least 16 times.

Other winners of this competition in recent years include Aberdeen (2014), Ross County (2016) and St Johnstone in 2021.
