Previously known as the San Marino Grand Prix, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is a popular race with Formula One fans as it takes place at the well-loved Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola. If you want to get your hands on Emilia Romagna Grand Prix tickets that SeatPick has you covered!
Racing at the famous Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari track first dates back to 1980, when it was originally termed the Italian Grand Prix. It was first won by Brazilian Nelson Piquet, and from 1981 to 2006, the name was switched to the San Marino Grand Prix.
Many famous races have occurred on the circuit, but it is perhaps, sadly, best known for being the event that led to the death of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna in 1994.
Revisions were subsequently made to the track to make it safer, and in 2007 the race was removed from the Formula One calendar.
It was scheduled to return to the F1 schedule in 2016, but contractual issues relating to the race in Monza meant this was held up.
In 2020 it made its long-awaited comeback as a replacement for the 2020 Chinese Grand Prix, and it has been added on a long-term basis under its new title, the Emilia Romagna GP.
The circuit is, interestingly, one of the few that runs anti-clockwise and returned to the F1 calendar in 2020, having previously been known as the San Marino Grand Prix for over 25 years.
The race track has a capacity of 78,000, and 130,000 spectators watched the action over the course of the three days of racing in 2022.
The track length is 3.05 miles and features 19 turns, with Lewis Hamilton owning the lap record, set in 2020.
Event tickets for the grand prix at Imola vary in price, but currently, the average starting price is $40. The cost of tickets depends on where on the circuit your ticket is for, with grandstand seats being, for instance, far less expensive than corporate group hospitality packages.
Regardless of the different types of seating, SeatPick has an array of tickets for you to select from, offering you the most competitive prices on the market with no hidden fees.
Grandstand tickets for Imola are very popular, and the best vantage point is Grandstand R, also known as Rivazza which sits on an actual hill, giving you unique views.
The crowd at any Formula One race is vociferous, but in Italy, this is doubly the case. This makes watching the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix quite the spectacle.
You can access event tickets for this area, and all others, which are currently on sale now at SeatPick.
The FIA Formula One World Championship calendar has gone through many changes over the years, with new races added and others removed. Italy has a rich motorsports history, and as such, there will always be a race on the calendar set in the country.
Currently, they actually have two. Though the race at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari has previously hosted events that were titled the Italian Grand Prix, that title is now reserved for the race at Monza, near Milan.
The Emilian Romagna Grand Prix takes place near the town of Imola, which is located close to Bologna and was named after Ferrari founder Enzo and his son, Dino.
