Italy and Albania UEFA Euros Tournament Record
The Italian national team has triumphed twice at the UEFA European Championships. The Azzurri are one of only four countries to have achieved glory at both the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championships.
Italy first won their first European Championship more than half a century ago. At Euro 1968, they reached the final after beating the Soviet Union via a coin-toss, before clinching the title with a replay victory over Yugoslavia. There were no penalty shoot-outs in those days.
At Euro 2020, Italy relied on penalties to secure victory over England in the final. Their second European Championship success was hard-fought, overcoming Austria, Belgium, and Spain in the knockout rounds.
