Lainey Denay Wilson was born in May 1992 in Baskin, Louisiana and showed an instant attraction to music, listening to acts and singers like Buck Owens and Glen Campbell at an early age.

After leaving high school, Lainey Wilson moved to Nashville to get herself noticed and feel part of the country music scene. She self-released her debut EP, Country Girls Rule, in 2006, and in 2014, she released her self-titled debut album via Cupit.

Her second studio album, Tougher, followed in 2018 on Lone Chief before she was signed by BBR Music. Her third album, 2021's Sayin' What I'm Thinkin', proved a moderate hit on the US Country Music charts.

That album saw singles Dirty Looks and, in particular, Things a Man Oughta Know, performing well. Her next album saw Lainey Wilson surge into the mainstream. Bell Bottom Country earned her the first US Billboard Album chart success of her burgeoning career, reaching number 51 and also charting well in Australia.

Heart Like a Truck, Watermelon Moonshine, Wildflowers, and Wild Horses were all US Billboard Singles Chart hits and helped cement Lainey Wilson's reputation as a serious player on the country music circuit.
