Canada Tickets

Interest in Canada's national soccer team has never been higher. As co-hosts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Jesse Marsch's side made history: a 6–0 win over Qatar in Vancouver, with a Jonathan David hat-trick, gave Canada their first ever World Cup victory, and a stoppage-time Stephen Eustáquio winner against South Africa took them into the round of 16 for the first time, where they lost to Morocco in Houston.

Canada first played at the World Cup in 1986 and returned in 2022, but in 2026 they went much further, winning their first World Cup match and their first knockout tie.

Soccer is by no means the preferred sport in Canada, with ice hockey and basketball far more popular among the masses. However, after Les Rouges impressed on home soil at the 2026 World Cup, it is no surprise that demand for Canada tickets continues to grow.

Canada National Soccer Team History

The Canadian Soccer Association was established in 1912 and it first gained affiliation with FIFA that same year.

The first match (officially) involving the Canada national soccer team came in 1924. It was against Australia, in Brisbane, and the home team claimed a 3-2 win. Canada would also regularly contest friendlies against neighbours United States.

Only in the 70s did Canada first take part in a major tournament, at the 1977 CONCACAF Championship. The Canadians took fourth place out of six, as Mexico won the competition for a third time.

The men in red have been regulars at CONCACAF's championship since 1977, now known as the Gold Cup. Canada were crowned CONCACAF champions in 1985 and won the Gold Cup in 2000, and have reached the semi-finals on several other occasions. They also took part in the 1984 Olympic Games, reaching the quarter-finals of the soccer tournament.

Canada played at the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 1986, but didn't celebrate much success at the tournament held in Mexico.

In 2025, Canada achieved its highest-ever FIFA ranking of 26th.

Canada at Major Tournaments

The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the first of its kind to feature the Canada national team. Les Rouges ultimately exited at the group stage, without a win and having failed to score a goal against France, the Soviet Union and Hungary.

After more than 30 years away from the biggest stage in international soccer, Canada returned to the World Cup by qualifying for the 2022 edition. Despite once again crashing out from the groups without recording any points, the Canadians did score their first-ever goal at the World Cup finals as Alphonso Davies netted against Croatia.

As co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, Canada played their group games in Toronto and Vancouver. A 1-1 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina at BMO Field was the first men's World Cup match ever played in Canada, before a 6-0 win over Qatar, with a Jonathan David hat-trick, gave Les Rouges their first World Cup victory. Despite a loss to Switzerland, they finished second in Group B, beat South Africa 1-0 in the round of 32 and went out to Morocco in the round of 16.

Les Rouges qualified for the Copa America tournament for the first time in 2024. This is the continental showpiece for South American nations and it frequently extends invitations to members of CONCACAF and other confederations. Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago to seal a place at the showpiece event held in the USA.

Canada went on to reach the semi-finals on their Copa America debut, losing to Argentina. They then finished fourth after losing the third-place match to Uruguay on penalties.
