Their historic European Cup triumph occurred in 1967 when they overcame Inter Milan 2-1 in the final.

While Celtic remains a regular contender in the UEFA Champions League, they have not threatened to go far in the tournament. Their best campaign from recent years unfolded during the 2012/13 season, when they stunned the footballing world with a remarkable 2-1 victory over FC Barcelona at Celtic Park.
