José González Dublin Tickets

Across Dublin’s songwriter tradition, where folk, literary lyricism and close-room performance often overlap, José González’s music finds an audience primed for detail. His live work is quiet without being slight: repeating nylon-string patterns create a rhythmic undertow, while the voice remains measured enough for the songs to unfold gradually.

Where has José González played in Dublin before?

Vicar Street – José González has performed at Vicar Street, one of Dublin’s most respected rooms for singer-songwriters and international alternative artists. Its attentive, close-range atmosphere suits a show where small changes in timing and tone can carry as much weight as a dramatic chorus.

National Concert Hall – González has also appeared at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, bringing his acoustic music to a setting designed around careful listening and natural sound.

Dublin has given González both a songwriter-focused venue and a formal concert-hall context. Each allows the precision of his guitar work to remain central, rather than being overwhelmed by production or volume.

Who has supported José González before?

José González has shared bills with Rufus Wainwright, Shakey Graves, The Chemical Brothers, Metronomy, James Blake, Four Tet, Lykke Li, Ratatat, Jesca Hoop, Patti Smith, Modest Mouse and Regina Spektor. These appearances connect his work to folk, indie, electronic and alternative audiences without tying it to one fixed scene.

What songs might be on the José González set-list?

Heartbeats
Crosses
Stay Alive
Cycling Trivialities
Line of Fire
El Invento

“Heartbeats” remains his best-known reworking, while “Crosses” and “Cycling Trivialities” show how a single guitar can generate a strong rhythmic pulse. “Stay Alive,” “Line of Fire” and “El Invento” create more space around the melodies, giving the room a chance to hear the control and restraint in González’s writing.

A Dublin audience brings a particular value to this kind of music: a readiness to follow a song through its quieter turns. González’s concerts reward that patience, building their strongest moments from detail rather than spectacle.
