Juventus FC History

Originally called Sport-Club Juventus, the club was founded back in 1897 by a group of school pupils. Six years later Juventus adopted its now-famous black & white stripes.

After turning professional, Juventus FC became as a powerhouse in Italy during the 1930s, laying the foundations for the club's extreme success in the years which followed. The Serie A was established in 1929 and Juventus soon emerged as serial winners within Italian football.

Finally, Juve were crowned champions of Europe in 1985, defeating Liverpool 1-0 at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels.

Juventus were once again the team to beat in the mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s, winning five Serie A titles and one UEFA Champions League in an eight-year span.

Another spell of dominance followed in the 2010s as Juventus claimed the Scudetto for nine consecutive seasons from 2012-2020. Under the management of Max Allegri, Juve also reached the Champions League final twice during this spell, but were unable to overcome Spanish giants FC Barcelona & Real Madrid on either occasion.

Juventus remain the most decorated club in Italian football, with no fewer than 36 league titles and 15 Coppa Italia successes.
