Viktoria Plzen History

FC Viktoria Plzeň was founded in 1911, though only in 1929 did the club turn professional. Under the name Spartak Plzeň, the side claimed a 3rd-place finish in 1961 which remains their best official finish in the top flight.

The team was called Škoda Plzeň from 1965 until 1993 when Czechoslovakia was split into Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and the club's name was changed to FC Viktoria Plzeň.
