Weird Al Yankovic Tickets

A song about bologna, played on an accordion in a college radio station's bathroom, launched what became the best-selling comedy recording career in history.

"Weird Al" Yankovic has been a five-time Grammy winner across four-plus decades of parody, polka, and style-spoofing originals, with sixteen nominations along the way.

His 2014 album, Mandatory Fun, became the first comedy album ever to debut at number one on the Billboard 200.

What to Expect from a Weird Al Yankovic Concert?

Costume changes are a long-running signature, with outfits shifting from one parody to the next while video clips play on screens behind the band.

Hits like "Eat It" and "Amish Paradise" sit alongside style parodies, where he writes an original song in the manner of an artist rather than spoofing a specific track.

Polka medleys remain a fixture, stitching dozens of chart hits together at accordion speed.

On his smaller theatre outings, he has played his original non-parody songs and promised a different setlist every night.

Weird Al Yankovic's Biography

Alfred Matthew Yankovic was born on 23 October 1959 in Downey, California, raised in nearby Lynwood, and took his first accordion lesson the day before his seventh birthday.

While studying at Cal Poly, he recorded a parody of The Knack's "My Sharona" called "My Bologna" using only his accordion, and Dr. Demento put it into heavy rotation on his syndicated radio show.

His self-titled debut album arrived in 1983, followed in 1984 by Weird Al Yankovic in 3-D, whose lead single, "Eat It," parodied Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and won a Grammy for Best Comedy Recording.

He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018 and, in 2022, co-wrote and produced the Emmy-winning biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, with Daniel Radcliffe in the title role.

His parody targets have included Madonna, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Queen, U2, and Lady Gaga, typically with their personal blessings.

Weird Al Yankovic's Albums & Projects

Beyond his 1983 debut and In 3-D, Yankovic's discography stretches to 14 studio albums, including 2003's Poodle Hat, which won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album.

Mandatory Fun, his 14th, won a Grammy and set Spotify records, taking the top four spots in the platform's US viral chart at the same time.

Compilation and box sets such as Permanent Record: Al in the Box and Squeeze Box: The Complete Works gather his catalogue for completists.

Most Popular Weird Al Yankovic Songs and Setlist Selections

"Eat It," "Like a Surgeon," and "Smells Like Nirvana" remain the best-known pieces of his catalogue, alongside "Amish Paradise," "White & Nerdy," and "Word Crimes."

His Lady Gaga spoof, "Perform This Way," and the style parodies from his later albums often appear too, and the accordion is present on every track of his debut.

Previous Weird Al Yankovic Tours and Festival Appearances

His Mandatory World Tour in 2015 and 2016 covered around 200 performances across the US, Canada, and beyond.

Later outings swapped spectacle for intimacy, including the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour in smaller theatres and the Strings Attached Tour, which saw him perform with a full symphony orchestra.

His live career has included appearances at Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Red Rocks, the Kennedy Center, the Hollywood Bowl, and Madison Square Garden.
