Three years later, the two nations met again in the final; this time, the game was a thoroughly one-sided affair, with former Arsenal man Julio Baptista opening the scoring for Dunga’s side before a Roberto Ayala own goal and a Dani Alves third gave Brazil a comfortable 3-0 success.
2015 and 2016 saw history repeat itself as Chile defeated Argentina in successive Copa America Finals, both via penalties after 0-0 draws.
