When thinking of Italian teams in continental club competitions, the blue and black of Inter Milan immediately come to mind for fans all around the world. The Nerazzurri have been highly successful in all of the competitions they have featured and are a side that many expect to be in and amongst the favourites to lift the trophy. Indeed, the San Siro Stadium, which is also known as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, can hold more than 80,000 fans and is packed full on important European nights.
Inter Milan, or Internazionale, have been able to assemble a squad full of superstars throughout their history, with their roster containing players of the highest quality. Previous squads included the likes of Ronaldo, Adriano and Samuel Eto’o, whilst more recent teams have seen the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Lautauro Martinez and Christian Eriksen all feature.
Inter Milan's Top Achievements In the Europa League
The Serie A outfit, as mentioned, have been incredibly successful when competing in the UEFA Europa League, having lifted the trophy on no fewer than three times. Those successes came in 1990/91, 1993/94 and 1997/98.
Inter Milan have reached five finals in total as they made appearances in the 1996/97 and 2019/20 showpiece occasions. However they were handed defeats by German outfit Schalke 04 and Europa League experts Sevilla FC.
