Juventus FC History

Originally called Sport-Club Juventus, the club was founded back in 1897 by a group of school pupils. Six years later Juventus adopted its now-famous black & white stripes.

After turning professional, Juventus FC became as a powerhouse in Italy during the 1930s, laying the foundations for the club's extreme success in the years which followed. The Serie A was established in 1929 and Juventus soon emerged as serial winners within Italian football.

The 1970s were also dominated by La Vecchia Signora (The Old Lady) with no fewer than five league titles in addition to considerable performances in Europe. Juventus reached the 1972/73 European Cup final but narrowly lost to Dutch side Ajax.

10 years later they had the chance to redeem themselves with another appearance in the European Cup final, but once again were unable to clinch the trophy, this time against German outfit Hamburger SV. Finally, Juve were crowned champions of Europe in 1985, defeating Liverpool 1-0 at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels.

Juventus were once again the team to beat in the mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s, winning five Serie A titles and one UEFA Champions League in an eight-year span.

Another spell of dominance followed in the 2010s as Juventus claimed the Scudetto for nine consecutive seasons from 2012-2020. Under the management of Max Allegri, Juve also reached the Champions League final twice during this spell, but were unable to overcome Spanish giants FC Barcelona & Real Madrid on either occasion.

Juventus remain the most decorated club in Italian football, with no fewer than 36 league titles and 15 Coppa Italia successes.

Juventus Stadium: Allianz Stadium

The Juventus Stadium has been the home of Juventus FC since 2011, though the venue has been called the Allianz Stadium for sponsorship reasons since 2017. The ground has a 41,507 capacity, and a Juventus home match usually produces a fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium.

Juve had previously played their home matches at Stadio Comunale from 1933-1990 (and later from 2006-2011) as well as at Stadio delle Alpi from 1990-2006.

Although many seats are allocated to season ticket holders, fans eager to attend a game at the Allianz Stadium can buy Juventus tickets safely at SeatPick, with dozens of reliable sellers to choose from.
