Michael James Lawrence Bibi was born on 23 June 1990 in London, the son of blues guitarist Robin Bibi and a dance teacher mother.

Unable to break into the scene through traditional routes, he used his own savings to rent a venue and launch Solid Grooves, a party brand that quickly built a loyal following across London.
